How can I run a great orientation?

Orientation is something that is not only important for new employees but also important for the organization as a whole. It serves as the way to make sure that new employees have as good of a start as possible along with having a purpose of allowing t them to contribute as early as possible. That is why it is so important for it to be run in a successful way.

According to Linkedin, there are many methods that will make your orientation run as smooth as possible for both you and for your employees. First off, a surefire way of having a good orientation is to show off as much of the company as possible. This includes doing presentations about the different values and goals of the organization. Even though these might have been explained in interviews or on your company’s website, the more it is ingrained in your employees heads the better.

Another way to

ensure a successful orientation is to do an executive Q&A. There are many benefits to doing this. First off, it allows new employees to become more comfortable with higher up employees in the organization. It also works in reverse too. The higher ups can put a name to a face in a quick and easy way. Another benefit is that it gives new employees a space to ask any questions that they might have.

There are also great some tips on running a great orientation that come from One of these tips is to build breaks into the schedule. You do not want to overwhelm new employees with a lot of information all at once. Presenting too much information at one time can be tiring to listen to and cause people to zone out and to stop paying attention. The information you present at orientation is important, you don’t want it to go through one ear and out the other.

Another tip that they have is to try and keep the new employees fed. Even bringing something like some small snacks works well here. This is important for a couple of reasons. First off, it shows that as an organization you care about your new employees. It is also important to have food at orientation because it allows for employees to focus better which is obviously important. Plus who doesn’t love snacks?
